Lucien le Moine Meursault Premier Cru Perrières 2021

Meursault, located in the Côte de Beaune, is known for producing some of the most excellent white wines in Burgundy, especially the powerful and complex Chardonnay varieties. The town has a long history as a center of wine trade, adorned with beautiful estates and aging cellars dating back to the Middle Ages. Although Meursault has no Grand Cru vineyards, it boasts 20 Premier Cru vineyards and over 50 "lieux-dits". While young Meursault wines can be enjoyed as AOCs, Premier Cru wines require longer aging to reach their full potential.

Lucien le Moine was established in 1999 by Rotem and Mounir Saouma, known for their uncompromising approach and innovative methods. The couple, with roots in Israel and Lebanon, share a deep passion for Burgundy and its grape varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. After studying in Montpellier and working as a cellar master in Israel, Mounir moved to Burgundy in 1995. Here, he worked as a cellar master for a major negociant and developed the idea for Lucien le Moine: to acquire top-quality wines from selected producers and vinify them in his own cellar in Beaune. The wines are aged exclusively in new oak barrels from Burgundy.
