Cote D'or 2023 Blanc from Domaine Philippe Bouzereau is a Chardonnay wine made from declassified Meursault grapes grown on the Les Pellans, Les Millerands and Les Murgers de Limozin plots. The vines, which were planted in 1950 and 2001, are located in the lower part of the Meursault commune, where the soil is composed of clay, lime and sand. Bouzereau creates this wine to offer a quality experience at a more affordable price than a traditional Meursault.
Philippe Bouzereau took over 16 hectares of vineyards in 2006 after gaining experience in Beaujolais, Australia and New Zealand. The family has always followed the principles of "Agriculture Raisonnée" and uses their own clones. In 2015 they switched to organic cultivation on what is now 18 hectares of vineyards. Philippe's brother, Charles Bouzereau, is also part of the family business. Their Bourgogne Blanc and Meursault wines are known for delivering high quality at a lower price.
