Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard was established in 1973 by Jean-Marc Brocard, who began by planting Chardonnay vines around the Sainte Claire church in Préhy, Chablis. Today, the winery owns around 200 hectares of vineyards in the Chablis and Auxerrois regions. In 1997, his son Julien, an engineer with a passion for ecology and biodynamics, joined the family and has since worked to convert the vineyards to organic and biodynamic cultivation. Currently, around 60 hectares are cultivated organically and 40 hectares biodynamically, with ambitions to convert all 200 hectares.

Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard is famous for its wines that are both full of character, aromatic and mineral. Chablis Vieilles Vignes 46 is made from grapes from a plot planted in 1946. These vines, over 75 years old, are organically grown and draw their nutrients from depths of more than 25 meters. The grapes are pressed immediately upon arrival at the cellar and fermentation takes place in small, temperature-controlled steel tanks using the grapes' natural yeast strains. The wine is aged for 14 months on lees in egg-shaped tanks and bottled after natural settling and light filtration.

Chablis Vieilles Vignes 46 presents itself with a light golden color and a greenish tinge.
