CWG Neil Ellis Cape Winemakers Guild Abel 2020 is a fine red wine from the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Created by the talented winemaker Warren Ellis of Neil Ellis Wines, this wine was specially crafted for the Cape Winemakers Guild auction.

Grape composition: Inspired by left bank Bordeaux blends, this wine contains:

• 45% Cabernet Sauvignon
• 25% Cabernet Franc
• 15% Petit Verdot
• 10% Merlot
• 5% Malbec

All the grapes come from the same estate as the famous Jonkershoek Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting notes: The wine offers aromas of blackcurrant and dark cherries with subtle notes of licorice. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated with a well-balanced structure of chalky tannins.

Storage potential: This wine has the potential to develop beautifully and will be at its best from 2025 to 2035.

Production: 60 cases of this vintage were produced, of which 40 were sold at auction. The wine has an alcohol content of 14.58% and a pH value of 3.40.
