After the death of Gérard Jaboulet in the late 1990s, the company went through a challenging period. The situation took a positive turn when the Frey family acquired Paul Jaboulet Aîné in 2006. The Frey family, who also own vineyards at Château la Lagune in Bordeaux and properties in Burgundy and Valais, Switzerland, have revitalized the company. Caroline Frey, a trained oenologist from Bordeaux, is now at the helm of the company. She has modernized all the vineyards and added new, premium plots in Côte Rôtie, Condrieu and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Today, the company owns around 120 hectares in the Rhone, and since 2013, all the fields have been cultivated organically. From the 2016 vintage, all the domaine wines have been certified organic.

Jaboulet Côte-Rôtie Domaine Des Pierrelles 2020 is a deep red wine that offers aromas of blue berries, with hints of potpourri and subtle smoky notes. The palate is soft and sweet with elegant acidity, fine tannins and a persistent, mineral finish.
