Vietti Brunate Barolo 2018

The Nebbiolo grapes used for this wine come from the renowned "Brunate" vineyard in La Morra, a prominent MGA (Cru) in Barolo, located in the south of the region. The vines have an average age of 54 years and all plots are in the process of being converted to organic cultivation.

After a short maceration both before and after the four-week alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks, the wine is aged in wooden barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation. The wine matures for 32 months in a mixture of large Slovenian wooden barrels and French barriques before being bottled without filtration.

The 2018 vintage has given the wine a fascinating, slightly exotic fruit sweetness, combined with a solid structure and a rich tannin profile. This means that the wine will develop and open up over time. The familiar elegant and ethereal style is still present in the aroma, but in the wine's young stage, the more intense nuances are prominent.
