Neil Ellis Jonkershoek Amica Sauvignon Blanc 2020 is an elegant and complex white wine from the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The name Amica , which means "friend" in Latin, symbolizes friendship and community around good food and wine.

Vinification and aging

The wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes from a single vineyard with weathered granite and quartz soils. The grapes were hand-picked and gently pressed as whole bunches using a Champagne pressing technique to obtain the finest must. Fermentation took place naturally in 500 liter French oak barrels, 20% of which were new. The wine matured for 9 months in these barrels, adding a complex and textured character.

Aroma and flavor profile

• Taste : Fresh and juicy with notes of lime, nectarine and lemongrass. A round and creamy mouthfeel with a fine minerality and lively acidity that gives a youthful and vibrant finish.
