The wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes from a 0.47 hectare Grand Cru Clos Vouge, where the vines are 80 years old. The grapes are hand-picked and destemmed, after which they undergo a cold maceration for 3-5 days and fermentation for 15-20 days. The wine is then matured in oak barrels, 70% of which are new, for a period of 15-18 months. It presents a deep red color and classic Pinot Noir aromas, with a full-bodied taste of red berries and a harmonious balance between fruit and spices. The domaine is run by brothers Alain and Jean-Marc Noëllat, who also produce other Grands Crus, Premiers Crus as well as Village and Regional wines.
