Domaine Laporte La Comtesse Sancerre 2023

Originally established in 1850 near Saint-Satur on the banks of the Loire River, Domaine Laporte became part of the Henri Bourgeois family portfolio in 1986. The property comprises 30 hectares of vineyards, 80% of which are dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc and the remainder to Pinot Noir, all grown organically.

The vineyard "La Comtesse" is located on a south-facing slope near Chavignol, where the soil consists of chalk and marl, which is ideal for Sancerre wines. The grapes are harvested by hand, undergo a short skin contact, pressed and ferment spontaneously in steel tanks. The wine matures on the lees for 5 months without undergoing malolactic fermentation and is then aged for a further 1-2 months in bottle.

Known for their delicate and crisp character with notes of hawthorn and jasmine, La Comtesse wines have a dry and structured taste that makes them an excellent choice for seafood, fish, poultry and veal.
