Château Latour is known as one of the most prestigious wines, impressing wine lovers and critics year after year. Often referred to as “just a baby”, this wine receives high marks and comments such as “this one needs time!” Château Latour is unique in that it has been tasted multiple times by international experts, highlighting the depth and potential for development of the wine. It is famous for its long shelf life, and many have had unforgettable experiences with vintages such as 1945, 1928, 1900 and 1899. In 2012, Château Latour decided to stop their allocation agreements and left the “en primeur” market in order to release the wines when they were more mature. In April 2013, they re-released Château Latour 1995, a practice that has continued for a decade. Latour 2014 was released in conjunction with the "en primeur" tastings of the 2021 vintage in Bordeaux in the spring of 2022. The wine is made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon from 45-105 year old vines on the famous 47 hectare L'Enclos. The grapes are hand harvested and carefully sorted before being crushed and fermented in steel tanks. The final cuvée is matured for 20 months in 100% new barrels and undergoes a fining with fresh egg whites before being bottled and further matured before release.
