Valbuena is an exquisite wine from Ribera del Duero, famous for its careful barrel aging and 24 months of bottle aging. It offers flavors of cherry, blackcurrant and plum, and with further aging it achieves an elegance comparable to the great wines of Burgundy.

The younger version of Vega Sicilia Unico, Valbuena 5º, matures for 5 years before release and is the youngest wine from Vega Sicilia. It is now made mainly from Tempranillo and Merlot, with a reduced barrel aging time from 50 to 30 months. The grapes are carefully selected and the stems are removed before fermentation, which takes place in stainless steel without the addition of foreign yeast strains. The wine is then matured in both American and French oak barrels before being bottled.
