Vega Sicilia Valbuena 2019 is renowned for its extensive barrel ageing and spends 24 months in bottle before release. The flavour profile is dominated by cherries, blackcurrants and plums. After a few years of ageing, the wine develops a refined finesse reminiscent of the great wines of Burgundy, which is remarkable for a wine from Ribera del Duero.

Vega Sicilia Valbuena is a wine with lots of character and strength. It is ideal for those who appreciate Spanish wine and are looking for a unique wine experience. As the little brother of Vega Sicilia Unico, it spends 5 years in the cellar before reaching the market.

Valbuena shares many features with Unico. It has a deep red color with an orange rim and brick red nuances, which indicate optimal aging. The aroma is complex with notes of red berries, especially cherries. The taste is intense with rich fruit, juice and power. Valbuena is extremely tasty and harmonious.

The wine can be stored for another 5-7 years. When serving, it is recommended to decant it for approximately 1 hour and serve at 16-18 degrees.

Ribera del Duero is one of Spain's most renowned wine regions, having been granted Denominacion de Origen (DO) status in 1982. Located in Castilla Y Leon, the extreme temperatures here create complex and characterful wines such as Valbuena. Vega Sicilia prioritizes quality and character, and in some vintages neither Unico nor Valbuena is produced.
