The 2017 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep ruby red in colour and offers aromas of cassis, ripe raspberries, toasted coconut and shiitake mushrooms. The wine has a full-bodied flavour, a solid structure and a lingering finish. Tasting notes include fresh cherries, floral nuances and a hint of black pepper that adds an extra dimension of complexity. The tannins ensure the wine’s ability to age and it could develop beautifully until 2040.
The wine is composed of 78.9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 3.5% Cabernet Franc, 2.3% Petit Verdot and 0.3% Malbec. It has been matured for 24 months in American oak barrels, of which 84% were new, giving the wine characteristic notes of bay leaf, coconut and vanilla. It is ready to drink upon release, but has the potential to develop until 2040.
