Rustenberg Buzzard Kloof Syrah 2015 comes from south-facing slopes that receive less sunlight. This wine presents an intense aroma, where the cool character harmonizes with the warm growing season. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy, ripe tannins, notes of blackberry, sea salt and black pepper, ending in a long finish with liquorice. The Syrah will improve with several years of bottle aging. It was awarded 4 ½ stars in the 2019 edition of Platter's South African Wine Guide and achieved 90 points for the 2015 vintage. The wine is powerful with a structure of ripe tannins, acidity, intensity and spicy complexity, as well as appropriate barrel aging (40% new barrels). The balance masks the 14.7% alcohol.
