GlenWood Grand Duc Syrah 2022

GlenWood Grand Duc Syrah 2022 is an exquisite red wine from the picturesque Franschhoek Valley in South Africa, made exclusively from Syrah grapes.

The wine is an excellent example of GlenWood Vineyards' craftsmanship and is only available in a limited production run of 1,300 bottles.

Vinification and aging

The grapes were carefully handpicked at a ripeness of 23.8°Brix and fermented with 50% whole bunches in small open vats. During fermentation, the must was gently stirred three times a day. After pressing, the wine underwent a natural malolactic fermentation in barrels and was then aged for 20 months in a mixture of new French and American oak barrels.

Color: Deep garnet red.

Scent: Aromas of dark berries and violets with spicy undertones.

Taste: A velvety texture with notes of dark fruit and spice that reflect the aroma. The wine is elegant, rich and complex with soft tannins and a persistent finish.
