Les Cailloux Cuvée Centenaire André Brunel 2016

Cuvée Centenaire is produced only in the most exceptional years from vines over 125 years old, with a production of 15-20 hl/ha. The soil is rich in blue clay with a high graphite content, which gives the wine a characteristic mineral taste. The protective Mistral wind keeps the vineyard free from moisture and mold, contributing to the depth and complexity of the wine.

Each grape variety is fermented separately (84% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 6% Syrah for the 2019 vintage) and aged for 12-15 months in both wooden barrels and concrete tanks. The wine is bottled without filtration to preserve its natural flavor and aroma.

The wine has an intense ruby ​​red color. The aroma is filled with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and dark spices. The taste is complex with hints of forest floor, leather, licorice and dark chocolate. Despite the high alcohol content, the wine has a harmonious finish. The 2019 vintage is particularly concentrated and should be decanted before serving.

It is ideal for dishes with lamb, beef or game, but can also be enjoyed on its own.
