The Prüm family has been involved in winemaking since 1156 in the Moselle villages of Bernkastel, Graach, Wehlen and Zeltingen. In 1842, Jodocus Prüm built sundials in Wehlen and Zeltingen, which inspired the names Wehlen Sonnenuhr and Zeltingen Sonnenuhr. The SA Prüm winery was established in 1911 by Sebastian Alois Prüm, who took over 7 hectares of vineyards. Raimund Prüm has been at the helm of the winery since 1971, and his daughter has taken over as head winemaker since 2017. SA Prüm is known for producing first-class Riesling by combining traditional methods with modern winemaking techniques.
