Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of the most renowned wine producers in Burgundy, established at the beginning of the 20th century by Etienne Camuzet. The estate comprises 2.9 hectares of the finest plots of the Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot. After Etienne Camuzet's time, the vineyards were inherited by his daughter, Maria Noirot. Upon her death in 1959, the estate passed to Jean Méo, who hired the renowned winemaker Henri Jayer. Jayer introduced techniques such as low yields, full destemming and cold maceration to ensure the high quality of the wine.

Initially, the wines were sold to local négociants by Jean Méo, but from 1985 he began to sell directly from the estate. In 1988, Jean Méo also took over the management of the vineyards, and since 1989 his son, Jean-Nicolas Méo, has been at the helm of the estate with the support of Christian Faurois. Together they have maintained and further developed the high standards of winemaking.
