Cascina Ballarin Barolo "Bricco Rocca" 2016

The Viberti family owns the Bricco Rocca vineyard, located near Cascina Ballarin. This southeast-facing vineyard is known for producing wines with great potential for aging. The grapes are carefully hand-picked and the fermentation process takes place in temperature-controlled tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 26 months in Slavonian oak barrels and a further 8 months in the bottle. Barolo "Bricco Rocca" is a complex wine with a brick-red hue. It opens quickly on aeration and offers aromas of sweet cherries, vanilla and almonds. The taste is intense with notes of roses and violets, and the aftertaste offers a long-lasting fruity sweetness. The wine can be enjoyed young after aeration or stored to develop further. When young, it is ideal with beef, lamb or duck, while with age it goes well with game dishes. Best served at 15-17 degrees.
