RioCassero is a Brunello wine from Tenuta Caparzo, introduced in 1992. This wine is made from Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown on the winery's own fields, including il Cassero. The wine is aged for three years in oak barrels and another year in bottle. Compared to Caparzo's first wine, RioCassero is lighter, making it more quickly mellow and harmonious. It has a deep ruby ​​red color that develops a reddish-brown edge over time. The taste is soft and rounded with notes of pepper, cherry and marzipan, as well as delicate nuances of wild berries. The wine has an aging potential of 8-12 years and should be opened half an hour before serving. It is an excellent choice for game birds, lamb, duck and blue cheese.
