Abbotts & Delaunay Viognier IGP Pays d'Oc 2023

Grape variety: 100% Viognier

Alcohol content: approximately 14% vol.

Character and style

This white wine from southern France (Languedoc, Pays d'Oc) is created with a focus on both fruitiness, aroma and balance. The vines grow at an altitude of 150-200 meters, which gives them cool nights and a distinct freshness. The soil is clayey and calcareous, which contributes to the mineral character of the wine.

Fragrance notes

The scent combines ripe apricots, peaches and a bloom of white flowers. There is light citrus and a touch of honey, which gives sweetness and depth to the aroma.

Flavor profile

The taste is round and full-bodied, with tropical and stone fruit, where peach and apricot dominate. Despite the fullness, there is good acidity that provides freshness and balance, and the aftertaste is persistent with a slightly spicy finish.

Food pairing and serving time

Best served at approx. 8-10 °C. Excellent as an aperitif, with fish and shellfish, chicken or light vegetarian dishes. A risotto with shellfish or a green salad with fruit and nuts would also be excellent companions.
