Vi de Vila Porrera is a wine made from 70% Carinyena and Garnatxa, harvested from 22 different vineyards around Porrera. The grapes are carefully picked by hand to avoid damage and vinified separately. The fermentation process lasts between 20 and 30 days at around 30ºC, after which the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels from Allier in France, and finally aged for 2 years in bottle.
The wine presents itself with a deep, dark ruby color and a scent that is both spicy and exotic. The taste is rich in fruit with nuances of dark cherries, licorice and vanilla. The finish is seductive with spicy and fruity notes. Although the wine is powerful, it is also pleasant to enjoy while it is still young.
It is an excellent choice for veal and beef dishes or lamb or pork stews, especially when prepared with tomatoes, red pepper and herbs.
