Thornæs Danish Single Malt Whisky - 3rd Edition

Thornæs Danish Single Malt Whisky - 3rd Release is the first smoked whiskey from Thornæs, and it is a rarity as it is matured in new Bulgarian oak.

The unique Eastern European oak gives the whisky a distinctive spicy character with floral notes. After maturing for 2 1/2 years in small 50 litre casks, the whisky is transferred to 200 litre bourbon casks to add extra sweetness and oxidation.

At first smell and taste you will notice dark caramel and floral honey, while the long aftertaste reveals more spicy nuances from the fresh oak and a pleasant peat smoke finish.

Each bottle is numbered and only 360 bottles have been produced.
