Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz Mataro 2017 is a fine wine made from 82% Shiraz and 18% Mataro (also known as Mourvèdre) grapes. The combination gives the Shiraz grape an extra dimension of body and complexity. The wine is matured in both French and American oak barrels, giving it a deep red colour. It is lively and inviting with a medium-full body, offering a juicy and fresh taste experience with subtle notes of oak. The flavour profile includes nuances of blackcurrant, leather, cherry, chocolate and liquorice, making it an excellent companion to roasts and red meats.
Bin 2 was originally created in 1960 by Max Schubret. This wine is a classic representative of Penfolds, harmoniously combining the generosity of Shiraz with the aromatic intensity of Mataro.
