Muga Selection Especial Reserva 2016

Muga Selección Especial is a sophisticated red wine from Rioja, composed of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 7% Mazuelo and 3% Graciano. The grapes come from Muga's most prestigious vineyards with the oldest vines. The wine is fermented with the grapes' natural yeasts and matured for 6 months in wooden vats, followed by 26 months in French oak barrels and at least 12 months in bottle.

The wine offers a velvety fruit aroma with nuances of cherry, blueberry, herbs, earth and flowers. A spicy base of vanilla, chocolate and tobacco adds depth. The taste is full and harmonious, with a fine balance between fruit, spices, tannins, acidity and a discreet sweetness from the barrel aging.

It should be served at 14-16 degrees after a few hours of aeration. It is an excellent choice for veal, lamb or game, as well as grilled vegetables such as zucchini, eggplant and red peppers.
