Mouton Cadet Réserve Paulliac 2018

Mouton Cadet Réserve Pauillac 2018 is a classic red wine from the Médoc on the left bank of Bordeaux, produced by Baron Philippe de Rothschild under the renowned Mouton Cadet series. “Réserve Pauillac” is among the more exclusive cuvées in the series and comes exclusively from vineyards in the Pauillac appellation , known for some of the world’s most prestigious châteaux.

Grapes and style

Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon , supplemented with Merlot and a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc .

Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure, tannin and aging potential, while Merlot rounds out with softer fruit.

Tasting notes

Color : Deep, dense ruby ​​red.

Nose : Intense aromas of blackcurrant, ripe cherries, cedar, graphite and tobacco, accompanied by subtle spicy notes from the barrel aging.

Taste : Full-bodied and well-structured with firm but ripe tannins. Dark fruit dominates, complemented by toasted notes, chocolate and a touch of vanilla.

Aftertaste : Long, complex and elegant with classic Pauillac minerality.

Storage potential

2018 is an excellent Bordeaux vintage with both concentration and maturity. The wine can be enjoyed now after an hour of decanting, but will develop further complexity until around 2030 .
