Lucien le Moine was established in 1999 by Rotem and Mounir Saouma, who are renowned for creating exquisite Burgundy wines. The couple, who have roots in Israel and Lebanon, are renowned for their dedication to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and their uncompromising winemaking methods.

After studying oenology in Montpellier and working as a cellar master in Israel, Mounir moved to Burgundy in 1995. Here he worked as a cellar master for a large negociant, which gave him access to some of the best wine producers. Mounir chose to buy 1st Cru and Grand Cru wines from selected producers and vinify them in his own cellar in Beaune, using new oak barrels.

This red wine presents flavors of black cherries, blackberries and blackcurrants, accompanied by smoky oak and a sweet spicy aroma. It has a fresh acidity and a persistent finish with hints of graphite.
