Lucien le Moine, located in Burgundy and led by Rotem and Mounir Saouma since 1999, has earned acclaim for their pioneering approach to winemaking. The couple, with roots in Israel and Lebanon, share a deep passion for Burgundy’s iconic grape varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
After studying oenology in Montpellier and working as a cellar master in Israel, Mounir moved to Burgundy in 1995 to immerse himself in working with his favorite grapes. He was employed by a major negociant and collaborated with some of the most renowned winemakers in the region.
Mounir chose to acquire top-quality wines, exclusively 1st Cru and Grand Cru, from carefully selected producers and bring them to his own cellar in Beaune, where he handles the further vinification himself using new oak barrels from Burgundy.
