A 1957 Port represents a unique part of wine history. Kopke's colheita wines are known for their perfect balance and complex flavor profile with a well-balanced acidity. This wine was made over 60 years ago by treading the grapes in lagares, after which it was aged in old, neutral oak barrels in Vila Nova de Gaia. After more than six decades, it has now been bottled and made available for sale.
Kopke Colheita 1957 offers an intense aroma with notes of smoke, nuts and a touch of powdered sugar, structurally bound together by alcohol and acidity. The taste is incredibly intense and well-balanced, with an aftertaste that lasts for several minutes. The youthful sweetness has disappeared, and the acidity dominates with nuances of camphor and medicinal notes.
