Cups 50 Year Old Tawny White

Kopke 50 Years Old White Port represents a new category that was approved in 2022. This unique port is created by combining very old white ports from Kopke's cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. In the last 10-15 years, white port has become more popular, which has made stocks limited and prices higher than for similar tawny ports.

Port wine is the result of carefully preserved wines and a skilled cellar master. To create a harmonious wine from different casks and vintages requires both expert aging and a talented 'master blender'. Kopke has achieved this with their 50 Year Old White Port, which sets a high standard for quality.

The wine offers an intense taste experience with notes of sultanas, candied prunes, citrus peel, cinnamon, woody notes, muscovado sugar, and rancio and oxidation aromas. An excellent acidity balances the high residual sugar content, and the aftertaste lasts for several minutes.

It is best enjoyed without food, but in good company. Serve at 11-15° in a spacious white wine glass to allow the aromas to develop. The wine remains fresh for several weeks after opening, especially if stored in the refrigerator.
