A medium ruby red wine that presents dark fruit notes, spicy oak and chocolate. The palate is rich in chocolate, blackcurrant and boysenberry, gradually developing into nuances of rum and raisins. The wine is silky smooth with a dense flavour profile and fresh acidity. The finish is long with sweet spices, toast and licorice.
The grapes originate from Stellenbosch and consist of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and 39% Cabernet Franc.
Richard Kershaw Wines
Richard Kershaw, a former chef, is one of the few in the world to hold a Master of Wine diploma. His wines are characterised by a cool, terroir-driven style, made with specific clones of Chardonnay and Syrah. Each wine is grown, vinified and aged separately before finally being blended together, much like a chef seasoning his dish.
Richard Kershaw offers three wines: a Burgundian-style Chardonnay with fresh fruit and concentration, a northern Rhône-style Syrah with fruit, pepper and black cherries, and an elegant Pinot Noir from Elgin.
