Phélan-Ségur was founded by Bernard Phélan through the merger of Clos de Garramey and Segur. By 1860, he had created the largest vineyard in Saint-Estephe. ​​His son, Frank Phélan, built the château that still stands today. After the Second World War, Phélan-Ségur was purchased by the Delon family, who owned it for 40 years before selling it to Xavier Gardinier. In 2017, the property was acquired by Belgian investor Phillippe Van de Vyvere for 90 million euros, and he is the current owner. Phélan-Ségur is recognized for delivering Cru Classé quality within the Cru Bourgeois with high ratings.

Frank Phélan, introduced in 1986, comes from younger vines and clearly reflects the characteristic style of both Phélan-Ségur and Saint-Estèphe. The wine is known for its structure, complexity, freshness and elegance. It is suitable to be enjoyed young, but can also be aged for up to ten years. Exceptional quality for the price!
