Fifth Innings Pinot Noir 2018

Fifth Innings Pinot Noir is created from grapes grown on Misty Cove’s premium Fareham Lane Vineyard. This vineyard is renowned for producing Pinot Noir with a rich aroma and fruity character. Misty Cove uses the finest Pinot Noir clones: 777, 115, Abel and 667. The grapes are gently picked in the early morning hours and vinified with minimal intervention. After destemming and light crushing, the grapes are macerated in small oak barrels for a week before fermentation begins with the grapes’ natural yeasts. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged in 80% new and 20% one-year-old barriques. Only the finest barriques are selected for Fifth Innings.

The wine presents a deep, purple hue with aromas of cherries, wild berries, cedar, dried herbs, tobacco and truffles. The taste is intense and well-balanced with a fine harmony between structure, tannins, softness and fruity sweetness. The aftertaste is long-lasting and complex. Perfect with dishes such as pasta, risotto, poultry, pork, lamb, warm vegetarian dishes or grilled fish.
