Pingus wine originates from two vineyards, Barrosso and San Cristóbal, where the vines are over 65 years old. These vineyards cover an area of 4.2 hectares and in good years around 30 casks are produced. After the frost in 2017, 2018 was an excellent year with both high quality and quantity.

Peter Sisseck uses whole bunch vinification, and in 2018 almost half of the bunches were used with stems. The wine is aged in French oak barrels and remains in large barrels for 21 months before bottling without fining or filtering.

Robert Parker has praised the 2018 Pingus for its balance and precision. The vines were planted in 1929 in La Horra, and the vineyards are both organic and biodynamically certified. In August 2020, 9,300 bottles were filled.

Dominio de Pingus was founded by Peter Sisseck in 1995, and the wine quickly achieved legendary status after recognition from Robert Parker. Four wines are produced: Pingus, PSI, Flor de Pingus and Amelia. Sisseck's principles focus on terroir, old vines, low yields and careful selection of grapes. No fining or filtration is used.

Pingus is renowned for its quality and intensity and has achieved international recognition. The project was named "Pingus" after Peter's nickname. When the first vintage was presented in 1996, the wine immediately became a legend and prices rose significantly.

Peter Sisseck draws inspiration from Bordeaux, and Pingus is known for its fruit concentration and use of new oak barrels. Only around 6,000 bottles are produced annually, and prices vary between 5,000 and 10,000 DKK. Flor de Pingus is another wine from the vineyard, but it is not considered a secondary wine to Pingus.
