Since its establishment in 1999 by Mariano García, former technical director at Vega Sicilia, the AALTO winery has quickly established itself as one of the most respected producers in Ribera del Duero. With a philosophy that focuses on minimal intervention in grape production, AALTO creates wines that combine strength with elegance. Mariano García works with Javier Zaccagnini, former president of Ribera del Duero's Consejo Regulador, to create some of the most remarkable wines in the region.

AALTO's Vineyards in Ribera del Duero

The winery has 100 hectares of vineyards, 40 percent of which are under direct management. The vines, which are between 40 and 60 years old, ensure excellent quality. The grapes, of the Tinto Fino variety (a variant of Tempranillo), are picked and sorted by hand to achieve the highest quality.

Barrel aging

After careful selection, the grapes undergo barrel aging in both American and French oak, which gives the wine a deep and complex character.
