Ataraxia Wine by Kevin Grant
Kevin Grant, hailing from Blantyre, Malawi, and educated in Cape Town, is a distinguished winemaker. With a BSc in zoology and a diploma in Cellar Technology, he has honed his craft at prestigious estates and through global winemaking studies. In 2004, he founded Ataraxia, nestled in the Hemel-en-Aarde region, where he creates artisanal wines such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and a red blend called 'Serenity'.
This wine is crafted from a single, organically cultivated, cool, south-facing vineyard. Employing traditional methods, the fruit undergoes vigorous processing, and the juice is aerated to achieve a rich ebony hue. It is fermented in specially designed Burgundian barrels and matured for 10 months before being bottled.
Tasting Notes: This wine showcases a true reflection of its origin, harmonizing vibrant fruit flavors with mineral-driven acidity and a subtle grip on the finish. Best enjoyed now through 2030, it is elegantly presented in a wooden box.
