Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of the most renowned wine producers in Burgundy, established at the beginning of the 20th century by Etienne Camuzet. He gathered many of the famous vineyards that still make up the estate today, and was the last private owner of the Château Clos de Vougeot before selling it to the Confrérie du Tastevin. The parcels that Domaine Méo-Camuzet owns at Clos de Vougeot are among the most prestigious in this Grand Cru vineyard.

After Etienne Camuzet's death, his daughter Maria Noirot took over the vineyards. As she had no children, the property passed to Jean Méo, who continued to employ "métayers" to run the domaine. One of these was the famous winemaker Henri Jayer, who set high standards for wine production. Jean Méo took care of the sales and in 1985 they began selling the wines directly from the estate. Since 1989, Jean-Nicolas Méo, Jean Méo's son, has managed the domaine together with Christian Faurois.

The Pinot Noir grapes for this Fixin come from two plots north of the village of Fixey. The vines are between 25 and 50 years old, and the slow maturation contributes to the crispness and aroma of the wine. Maturation takes place primarily in used oak barrels for 12-14 months. Méo-Camuzets Fixin is often more rounded and fruity in its youth compared to many other Fixin wines and develops quickly. It offers intense notes of cool forest berries and a solid amount of tannin, ensuring a good maturation. It is particularly suitable for gastronomic experiences.
