Château Guiraud, a 1er Cru Classé Sauternes estate, is located in the commune of Sauternes near Château d'Yquem. The estate has 85 hectares of vineyards, of which 65% are planted with Sémillon and 35% with Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes are picked in several stages and undergo fermentation in oak barrels. The wine is then aged for two years in oak barrels, half of which are new. Guiraud has the ambition to create wines that can compete with d'Yquem, and their wines are recognized for their full-bodied character and are considered among the finest in Sauternes.
