Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes No. 5 is a brilliant dessert wine that combines lively acidity with remarkable minerality and sweet notes of heather honey, white peach, pineapple and orange marmalade. The nose is filled with exotic aromas such as mango, honey, pineapple, apricot, orange peel, lemon curd, ginger, saffron and vanilla. The palate is full, sweet and silky, with an impressive balance of mineral acidity. Château Coutet in Barsac, which has 1st cru status, has 38 hectares of vineyards with old vines that thrive in limestone and clay soils, and benefits from a microclimate perfect for botrytis. The vineyards are planted with 75% Semillon, 23% Sauvignon Blanc and a small proportion of Muscadelle, with vines that are an average of 40 years old. The bottle contains 37.5 cl.
