Château Belgrave 5th Cru Haut-Médoc is located close to the border with St-Julien, separated from Château Lagrange by a small stream. Originally a hunting lodge under Louis XV, the current building was built in 1845. Today, the castle is owned by a group of international investors.

Since the Dourthe family took over the wine production in 1979, there have been significant improvements in both the vineyards and the cellar. Château Belgrave is known for its deep layers of Graves stone and a varied soil consisting of stone, sand and clay. Through soil analyses, grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit-Verdot have been adapted to the different plots.

In the cellar, the facilities have been optimized to enable individual fermentation and maturation processes in steel tanks. In 2013, conical fermentation tanks with built-in agitation and pumping were purchased, which has resulted in a significant improvement in the quality of the wine.
