After Peter Sisseck left Quinta Sardonia in 2011, management was handed over to Jérôme Bougnaud and Christian Rei. They have focused on highlighting the finesse of the fruit, and the vines are now 18-20 years old. Their efforts have resulted in impressive reviews, including high scores from Guía Peñín. The grapes are picked earlier to ensure an elegant flavor profile, and the wine is aged for 20 months in French barriques.
The wine offers an intense and fresh taste experience with nuances of blackberry, raspberry and cherry, complemented by notes of garrigue, chocolate and vanilla. It has silky tannins and a pronounced minerality. Quinta Sardonia, which was founded as a biodynamic winery around the turn of the millennium, is located in Sardón de Duero. The first vintage was launched in 2002 and quickly gained recognition with high scores from Robert Parker.
