Bodegas Barbadillo Brandy Gran Reserva

Brandy de Jerez is produced by distilling wines made from grape varieties such as Airén and Palomino, which are also used in sherry production. The distillation is done in two stages using traditional pot stills, where only the "heart" of the distillate is used. The maturation takes place in American oak casks that have previously contained Amontillado or Oloroso Sherry, which adds a round, exotic and complex flavor profile. The finest products use the "Criaderas y Solera" system from Sherry, where new distillation vintages are filled into the upper casks, while the lower rows are bottled after many years of aging.

Barbadillo was established in 1821 by Don Benigno Barbadillo in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The company remains family-owned and is managed by Don Antonio P. Barbadillo, a respected winemaker with over 50 years of experience. Barbadillo has around 500 hectares of vineyards in the Jerez Superior area and is 60% self-sufficient. The remaining grapes are purchased from carefully selected winegrowers. The bodega has modern facilities spread over 13 buildings and is known for its light, light and dry Manzanilla sherries, but produces all types of Sherry.
