Diesel Pinotage is the flagship of Beyerskloof – a tribute to the winery’s founder Beyers Truter’s faithful dog, Diesel, and at the same time a masterpiece that showcases the absolute top level of the Pinotage grape. This wine is only produced in particularly good vintages and in very limited quantities, making it a rarity among wine lovers.

In the glass, the wine appears intense dark red with an almost black core. The bouquet is deeply concentrated and complex: dark cherries, blackberries and blackcurrants form the foundation, while layers of dark chocolate, vanilla, espresso, toasted oak and tobacco unfold with time in the glass. A touch of licorice and violets adds elegance and freshness.

The palate is powerful, full-bodied and silky – a perfect balance of rich fruit, spice and barrel ageing. The ripe tannins are well integrated and provide structural strength, while the fresh acidity keeps the intensity in balance. The finish is incredibly long, complex and harmonious , with dark fruit, cocoa and spice lingering for minutes after the last sip.

Ageing potential: A wine with impressive aging capacity. It can be enjoyed now after decanting, but will develop even greater depth and refinement over the next 10–15 years.
