Anwilka Stellenbosch Red Wine

The Anwilka estate is renowned for producing some of the most remarkable full-bodied red wines from Stellenbosch. The estate was acquired in the late 1990s and replanted, with the first wine released in 2005. This vintage was described by Robert Parker as "the best red wine from South Africa". Now owned by Klein Constantia, the estate is situated in the Helderberg region close to the coast, creating a unique microclimate and special soil conditions.

Anwilka is a blend of Syrah and Cabernet, with the 2017 vintage consisting of 46% Syrah, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot. The grapes are harvested manually and the wine matures for 19 months in French oak barrels, half of which are new. The wine presents a deep ruby ​​red color with intense aromas of dark fruits and spicy oak. The palate is full-bodied and refined with well-integrated tannins and a long, silky finish with spicy nuances.
