Waterford The Jem - CFWI 2015

The Jem is created from grapes grown on Waterford Estates' 48 hectares of vineyards, which offer a diversity of soil types and grape varieties. The mountainous landscape and proximity to two oceans ensure warm days and cool nights, creating ideal conditions for winemaking. The wine has been matured for 19 months in French barriques, 32% of which were new oak barrels.

The Jem reflects the Waterford Estates philosophy with aromas of dark chocolate, plum, earthy notes, cloves, crushed violets and dark red berries. The palate is well-balanced with velvety tannins and a natural acidity that adds freshness and elegance. The wine has a classic dry character, a generous taste experience and a texture that is a testament to its origins.
