Vistamare Bianco di Toscana 2021 from Gaja
The name "Vistamare" means "sea view" and is inspired by the breathtaking views of the Tuscan coastline from the vineyards near Castagneto Carducci. This wine is made primarily from Vermentino (around 60%), with the addition of Viognier and a little Fiano, the composition of which can vary depending on the vintage. The vines thrive in soils consisting of lime, clay, sand and dark clay.
Each grape variety undergoes separate fermentation: Vermentino and Fiano in steel tanks, while Viognier ferments in wooden barrels. After a maturation period of 6 months – Vermentino and Fiano in steel tanks and Viognier in barrels – the wines are blended before being bottled.
The wine has a fresh and mineral aroma with nuances of citrus fruits, melon, mirabelle plums, apricots and peaches. The taste is dry, mineral and fruity, making it both aromatic and complex, perfect for gastronomic experiences.
