Vega Sicilia, Pintia Toro DO 2014

Pintia from Vega Sicilia is a pure Tempranillo that presents itself with a deep cherry red color and subtle violet-blue hues. It offers an intense aromatic profile that combines spicy, mineral and fruity notes with a smoky character, including hints of blackberry, licorice and forest floor. The wine is aged in French, American and Hungarian oak, which adds delicate woody notes.

On the palate, Pintia is powerful, juicy and dense with a silky texture and ripe tannins. The grapes are grown on stony and alluvial soils near the river. After harvest, the grapes undergo cold maceration and traditional fermentation. The wine is matured in oak barrels and aged for a further three years after bottling.

Pintia is an excellent choice for dishes such as roast duck, game, mushroom ragout, braised beef or lamb with herbs.
