Tignanello is a famous wine from Antinori, composed of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. It is aged for 16-18 months in both French and Hungarian oak barrels, which gives the wine depth, complexity and a harmonious strength with a persistent aftertaste.

The wine offers an intense aroma of black cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants, rose hips, graphite, vanilla, cedar and toasted notes. The palate is full of ripe fruit, complex spices, a soft tannin structure and a remarkable freshness.

Robert Parker awarded the 2013 edition of Tignanello 96 points. The wine is dark and inviting with aromas of dark fruit, spices and sweet tobacco, as well as a dry mineral note and a soft texture. The grapes come from a 57-hectare part of Tenuta Tignanello, located 390 meters above sea level.

Piero Antinori introduced Tignanello in the 1970s to demonstrate the potential of Chianti Classico, with the support of Robert Mondavi, Emile Peynaud and Giacomo Tachis. This wine revolutionized Tuscany and inspired the creation of some of Italy's most acclaimed wines, known as "super Tuscans".
