Pintia represents Vega Sicilia's venture into the Toro region, where the renowned Spanish winery, Bodegas Vega Sicilia, has acquired 96 hectares of vineyards. Pintia has quickly established itself as one of the leading wineries in the area, and already with their debut vintage in 2001 they achieved great recognition. The combination of low yields, a harsh climate and the careful winemaking of Xavier Ausás López de Castro creates wines of exceptional intensity and character. The wine is made from tinta del toro (tempranillo) and matures for 12-15 months in both French and American oak barrels. It presents itself with a deep ruby ​​red color and complex aromas of dark forest berries, vanilla, leather and tobacco. Robert Parker has awarded the wine 95+ points, while James Suckling has given it 96 points.
