Morgon M. & C. Lapierre 2023 is a classic and natural Beaujolais from one of the area's most iconic producers, the Marcel Lapierre family, who have set the standard for organic and biodynamic cultivation as well as winemaking without unnecessary additives.

The grapes for this wine come from the Morgon appellation, known as one of Beaujolais' most serious crus, with wines that often have greater depth, structure and aging potential than the others. The soil consists primarily of granite, which gives the wine a distinctive minerality and freshness. The harvest is done manually, and the vinification is done according to the traditional Beaujolais method with semi-carbonic maceration and natural fermentation without the addition of cultured yeast. Sulphur is used only in minimal amounts or not at all.

In the glass, the wine appears with a vibrant ruby red color. The aroma is intense and seductive with notes of red cherries, ripe raspberries, violets and a slightly spicy touch of pepper and herbs. The taste is juicy, elegant and fresh, but at the same time with good depth and structure. It combines pure fruit with a slightly earthy minerality, soft tannins and a crisp acidity that provides balance and finesse. The aftertaste is persistent and characterized by fruit, floral nuances and a subtle mineral touch.

Morgon M. & C. Lapierre 2023 can be enjoyed young for its juicy freshness, but will also develop greater complexity over the next 5-7 years. It is perfect with poultry, charcuterie, grilled white meats or vegetarian dishes with mushrooms and lentils.
